Apartment for a young family
Slnečnice, Bratislava, Slovakia
Popis projektu
Our first apartment in Slnečnice, Bratislava, is designed for a young family with a dog. Starting from a standard developer layout, we created a stylish home with a natural and very pleasant atmosphere. Structural interventions were kept to a minimum, with only a shifted partition and a few electrical points adjusted, while everything else remained in its original state. The main focus was on ideas, but we also paid attention to detail.

Entrance area
The corridor was narrow and dark, and we deliberately enhanced this effect with a dark design. The transition to the living area creates a strong spatial contrast, as the bright space feels open and welcoming.
Natural living area
The living area combines a black-and-white kitchen with natural wood, enlivened by a green sofa. Two black steel frames are mainly functional - one for the TV, the other as a fold-out workspace.
Living room
The kitchen consists of tall units and an island. The tall storage combines plywood and black-and-white fronts, breaking up the volume so it blends into the living area. The island uses worktops with a textile texture.

Dining area
The solid oak dining table matches the floor and visually contrasts with the light plywood kitchen fronts, which enhances the importance of the dining area. In its standard layout it seats 4 people, but can accommodate up to 6.
Radiator cover
Full-height windows would offer an exclusive view if not interrupted by radiators. We improved the visual quality by cladding their visible parts with perforated plywood, which also integrates storage for the workspace.
Fold-out home office
We solved the home office requirement with a fold-out desk in a steel frame, designed as part of the TV structure. In closed position it is almost invisible, but can be prepared for work in seconds when needed.
Bedroom with separate wardrobe
The bedroom is kept visually clean thanks to a separate wardrobe providing ample storage. A single cabinet hides the radiator and stores smaller items. Round metal bedside tables save space.
Sanitary areas
The bathroom and toilet were built to a standard specification. We added custom storage, mirrors and lighting. The design matches the rest of the interior and complements the developer finishes.
