Penthouse
Skypark by Zaha Hadid, Bratislava, Slovakia
Popis projektu
This large apartment with panoramic views is located on the top floor of the Skypark residential tower by Zaha Hadid in Bratislava. It was designed for a married couple with adult children moving from a family house. The layout was defined by the perimeter walls and service shafts, while the remaining space was redesigned entirely. The bright interior is complemented by softly shaped elements and rounded edges. The character of the space is defined by views, daylight and greenery.

Entrance hall as a transitional space
The entrance hall forms a transitional space defined by a furniture volume between the entrance and living area. Stained wood and tinted mirrors create a subdued contrast to the bright interior.
Living area with a multifunctional curved volume
A multifunctional volume in the center of the layout separates the entrance hall from the rest of the apartment. It encloses the service shafts and contains wardrobes, tall kitchen cabinets and mirrored vitrines.
We would like to thank the entire RULES team for the work on our apartment.
From the first meeting, we appreciated their professional approach and the way they truly listened to all our ideas and requirements.
Everything was carefully reflected in the first visualizations, which immediately felt right to us. The entire design, as well as the implementation schedule, was thoughtfully prepared in every detail.
We were satisfied not only with the design itself, but also with the communication and the excellent craftsmanship of all the work.
This project was demanding due to the size of the apartment, the amount of technical solutions and the extensive custom-made furniture. In the end, however, we as owners are absolutely satisfied with the result.
RULES created a space where we genuinely feel at home and which we truly love. Thank you not only for your professional work, but also for your personal and human approach.
Living area with panoramic views
The living area is defined by a seating composition framed by beige walls and a glazed façade with views. A circular ceiling opening emphasizes the height of the space. Soft materials complete the atmosphere.
A diffuser instead of a fireplace
One of the key elements of the apartment is the linear diffuser below the TV. It looks like a fireplace, but instead of heat it cools and humidifies the air. Thanks to the water connection, it needs little maintenance.
Compact kitchen with ceramic island
The kitchen consists of a ceramic island and a tall wooden unit. The island contains a sink, cooktop, dishwasher and storage. Appliances and space for accessories are integrated into the tall cabinets.
The kitchen island is highlighted by ceramic surfaces on both the countertop and cabinet fronts, offering durability and easy maintenance. Soft bar stools add the comfort of dining seating.
Walk-in wine room
The owners requested a glass walk-in wine room. We designed it to function technically while also acting as a design feature. Its integration into the kitchen makes it feel like a natural part of the space.
Mirrored storage in the dining area
The dining area is located in the western part of the apartment with views of the castle. The space is framed by the façade and mirrored storage reflecting the view. Designer lighting highlights the dining table.
Curved terrace adjoining the living area
The curved terrace accessible from the living area sits in front of the kitchen and dining space. Both sides provide space for dining and seating. A hot tub with city views is placed in the widest part of the terrace.
Outdoor lounge on the terrace
The terrace extends the functions of the living room and dining area in a compact form. It includes a small dining setup, a wellness hot tub and a lounge area with sofa, armchairs, greenery and lighting.
Chillout zone
The chillout zone is located on the eastern side of the living area. The space is defined by a walk-in wine room and a mirrored TV wall. A stationary bike will complete the area in the future.
Private master bedroom zone
The night zone consists of a large bedroom with bathroom facilities and a walk-in closet. It functions as a private area for the owners. Wood, soft upholstery and greenery connect it to the living area.
Generous master bedroom
The bedroom feels airy thanks to its generous size and height. It includes a large bed, bedside tables, a dresser and armchairs by the window. Soft materials create an intimate atmosphere.
Special attention was given to the wall behind the bed as the main feature of the space. It combines tinted mirror, wood cladding, upholstered panels and lighting into a layered backdrop for the bed.
Wooden walk-in closet
A separate walk-in closet keeps wardrobes out of the bedroom. It feels like a wooden volume with storage along the perimeter. Dark wood and soft lighting create an intimate atmosphere.
Primary bathroom
The bathroom includes a sink, shower, bathtub and a window that provides enough daylight for indoor plants. The bright design is emphasized by light ceramic surfaces used on both walls and floor.
The generous bathroom layout allowed the creation of separate zones for individual functions. The walk-in shower is designed without doors, while a freestanding bathtub beside it is oriented toward the view.
Guest bedroom
The guest bedroom is smaller than the main bedroom, yet equal in design quality. We created a soft and carefully balanced interior that forms its own distinct chapter within the apartment.
Home office
The study was created within a compact layout with a core placed almost in the center. We clad it in wood with integrated wardrobes and shelving, creating a cohesive space for work and relaxation.
Guest bathroom and sauna
The guest bathroom includes a sink, shower and infrared sauna. Wood and ceramic surfaces connect it to the living area. Storage is integrated beneath the sink and behind mirrored cabinets.
Toilet for guests
Despite its compact size, the guest toilet follows the overall interior. Kitchen ceramics continue onto the walls and floor, while the sink wall uses the same 3D cladding as the study.
